Harry Kane has been tipped to make a stunning return to the Premier League with Liverpool as the Bayern Munich star continues to be linked with a move back to his homeland.
But Premier League icon Alan Shearer believes Liverpool could be tempted to move for the 31-year-old, hailing him as a 'great option' for Arne Slot's side.
“Liverpool will be looking for a centre-forward in the summer, I don't doubt that and Harry Kane would be a great option for them because of the size of the club and he'll score goals.
“I've always said that if he comes back to the Premier League then he'll have a really, really good chance of breaking my record.
Nunez was the subject of a rejected bid from a Saudi Pro League club in January, as well as courting reported interest from Atletico Madrid.
With 213 Premier League goals to his name and a three-time Golden Boot winner, Kane may have unfinished business in the top flight if he wants to become the Premier League's all-time top goalscorer.
He has 47 to go to match Shearer's record and the former Newcastle finisher, 54, is confident he would pick up where he left off if he completes a move back to the Premier League.
“Kane is a machine and he'll always score goals.
He's a great goalscorer and has been for so many years now.”
Addressing his record, Shearer said: “My Premier League record won't last forever.
