Despite looking set to finally win the first trophy of his career in the Bundesliga, Kane has been tentatively linked with a move back to the Premier League, and Shearer believes joining Liverpool would make perfect sense for both parties.

“Liverpool will be looking for a centre-forward in the summer, I don't doubt that, and Harry Kane would be a great option for them because of the size of the club, and he'll score goals,” Shearer explained to Betfair.
“Whether Harry decides to stay in Germany or he decides to come back to the Premier League, he'll have options.”
On the possibility of Kane surpassing his personal scoring record, Shearer added: “I've always said that if he comes back to the Premier League then he'll have a really, really good chance of breaking my record.
I'm a huge admirer of him, and you can't be anything but because of who and what he is.
“My Premier League record won't last forever.
At the moment, I'm still enjoying it, so long may it continue!”

In 2006, Shearer retired as the Premier League’s all-time goalscorer with 260 goals.
Kane seemed certain to surpass that total, scoring 213 league goals for Tottenham Hotspur before his move to Bayern in 2023.
However, Shearer has argued that Kane, who scored in both of England’s games during the international break, will not lose his striker’s instincts.
“Harry Kane is a machine, and he'll always score goals,” Shearer said.
