Jurgen Klopp will undoubtedly count himself among the greatest football managers ever given his feats at Liverpool.

The German also enjoyed a hugely successful spell at Borussia Dortmund, but so far he will be remembered more for his time at Anfield.

It certainly came as a shock to many when the manager announced he would be leaving Merseyside in January.

Many fans are still not over the exit, with their beloved German having won seven major trophies during his spell with Liverpool.

His legendary status at Anfield and indeed in the Premier League is now set in stone, but there remains a debate over where he ranks in the all-time managerial list.

The likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola are all fellow legendary figures within English football.

Former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp has now shared his thoughts on the debate for Mail Sport, ranking himself above the likes of Mikel Arteta, Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pochettino among others.

But the former Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth manager finally admitted defeat to ex-Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti.

And when asked to choose between the Real Madrid manager and Liverpool icon Klopp, Redknapp opted for Ancelotti.

Ancelotti won’t want to look back on his time with Liverpool’s fierce rivals Everton too fondly, but he will have good memories from his spell at Chelsea.

In his first season in the Premier League, he became the first Italian manager to lift the trophy, as well as clinching the club’s first-ever double thanks to their FA Cup success.

The 65-year-old is now in the dugout with Real Madrid, and has just secured another superb double in the form of La Liga and the Champions League, along with the Spanish Super Cup.

While it wasn’t a dream farewell for Klopp at Liverpool, he leaves Merseyside a legend thanks to his feats over the years, with the boss happy to have done things ‘the Liverpool way’.

And the German has now paved the way for Arne Slot to continue that success at Anfield, with the latter in a somewhat rare situation for a manager arriving at a new club.

The Dutchman has been given a boost thanks to the atmosphere created by Klopp, with Slot noticing just how hard the players worked in training under the German.
