Harvey Elliott’s transition from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to Arne Slot’s new regime has been marked by dwindling minutes, a prolonged injury setback, and growing speculation about his long-term future at Anfield.

Once a regular contributor under Klopp, the 21-year-old midfielder has seen his role diminish dramatically this season, sparking debates about his fit in Slot’s system and potential summer exits.

Under Klopp in 2023/24, Elliott established himself as a versatile attacking midfielder, amassing 2,784 minutes across 53 appearances—a figure nearly matching his full-season tally during his 2020/21 loan at Blackburn.

His contributions included 4 goals and 11 assists.

This campaign, however, Elliott has managed just 583 minutes under Slot—a 79% reduction—with no Premier League starts and only sporadic substitute appearances.

Elliott’s hopes of impressing Slot early were derailed by a metatarsal fracture sustained during England U21 duty in September 2024.

Initially diagnosed as a six-week injury, complications from persistent inflammation extended his absence to 14 weeks, sidelining him until December.

A summer move could reignite his career, but as Elliott himself insists he wants to remain a Liverpool player.

Now the Chronicle have likewise reported that Elliott could leave Anfield this summer, and have claimed that the Anfield club have put a £40m price tag on the 21-year-old’s head.

With Elliott starting just 4 of 28 matchday squads since December, at this point the player himself will surely be thinking of a move.

Sky Sport’s Melissa Reddy has also reported that Liverpool could look sell Elliott if there’s a ‘good offer’ for his services – and it seems a ‘good over’ is north of £40m.
