Wataru Endo has had a quiet second season at Liverpool, with the Japanese international hardly getting a look in under Arne Slot.
The 32-year-old midfielder joined the Reds last season from VfB Stuttgart as a surprise signing in the summer, with Endo signed to fill in the gap left behind by Fabinho, who was one of the many top players who was lured away from Europe by Saudi Arabia.
With Ryan Gravneberch taking on the role for Liverpool this season in expert fashion, Endo’s minutes have dried up dramatically under Slot, with the former Bundesliga captain yet to even start a Premier League game this campaign.
However, Endo has now shared what Slot has said about his role with Liverpool this season behind the scenes.

Speaking on Red Machine, Endo revealed how Slot praised the Japanese midfielder for giving ‘100%’ behind the scenes to push his teammates and to give it his all in training despite not being a regular for the Reds.
With Virgil van Dijk also saying Endo has been unappreciated at Liverpool this season, the defensive maestro commands a level of respect that few players have at Anfield, with the 32-year-old one of the most experienced players in the dressing room.
And Slot also appears to be impressed with what he’s seen from Endo this season despite limited minutes, with the Dutch coach pleased to have a player who is willing to put in all of his effort in training for the good of the team.

Endo said: “Recently he told me what I have done this season was really amazing and really helpful for the team.
My manager is really thankful for that.”
Endo is clearly a favourite in the Liverpool dressing room, with the Japanese international a player who is well respected by all and is a trusted general by Slot despite the former Feyenoord manager preferring other options in the squad.
Yet it’s this lack of minutes that is clearly a real concern for the midfielder, with Endo linked with a move away from Liverpool heading into the summer transfer window, where a return to Germany is already being touted.
Indeed, Endo has proven his worth on and off the pitch at Liverpool, yet with the midfielder hardly kicking a ball this season, the 32-year-old would be wise to take up a new adventure away from Anfield in what could be the final big move of his career.
