Trent Alexander-Arnold’s time at Liverpool is set to come to an end this summer with the defender due to move to Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old right-back has been one of the best players to put on the famous red jersey for Liverpool in the Premier League era, with Alexander-Arnold set to leave Anfield as a club legend and a local hero for many supporters.
With Alexander-Arnold also becoming the latest Liverpool player to move to Madrid, it’s clear that the England international has big ambitions in mind ahead of joining what many would consider the biggest club in football.
And Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has seemingly confirmed these achievements Alexander-Arnold has set for himself.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the journalist shared how Alexander-Arnold’s dream is to win the Ballon d’Or, something the defender has a better chance of achieving at a club like reigning UEFA Champions League holders Madrid than Liverpool.
Although Alexander-Arnold’s odds of winning the biggest individual prize in football are already slim due to his position, the Liverpool star is arguably the only fullback in the world who could produce a season good enough to be in the conversation for the Ballon d’Or, which would help by being at Madrid.
Balague said about Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid: “He wants to aim to win the Ballon d’Or.

“He wants to conquer the world and I find that admirable.
He’s a Liverpool kid that fell in love with Spanish football.”
Since the turn of the century, Fabio Cannavaro remains the only defender to win the Ballon d’Or, with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo dominating the award before last year’s voting saw neither legend break into the top 30 for voting.
Yet Alexander-Arnold could well be the defender that breaks the mould in the years to come at Madrid, with the fullback having the skillset to catch the eye of any pundit whilst playing for the biggest club in the world.
If Alexnader-Arnold can lead Madrid to success in the same year England again go far in an international tournament, there’s a real chance that the 26-year-old could win the Ballon d’Or, as lofty as that ambition is.
