Liverpool must dust off the debris of a dramatic Merseyside Derby on Wednesday and turn their attention to the road ahead.
The Reds are embarking on a tough run of Premier League fixtures, with four games across the next two weeks.
The first of those is an Anfield clash against relegation-threatened Wolves.
After some initial confusion, Arne Slot is set to take charge against Wolves despite the red card issued to him at the end of Wednesday’s derby with Everton.
In the dugout next to Slot will be Portuguese manager Vitor Pereira, who has been in charge at Molineux since December.
And as Pereira prepares to appear on the Anfield touchline, it has emerged that the 56-year-old has had some rather interesting things to say about Liverpool in the past.

Pereira has done a decent job of things at Wolves so far.
After 10 games in charge, the well-travelled coach has won five, drawing once and losing four times.
Wolves fans may not have long to enjoy Pereira, though, as he does not tend to stay in his jobs for much time at all.

One such previous occasion saw Pereira take charge of Brazilian outfit Corinthians in February 2022.
By December of the same year, he was facing the sack but not before he had publicly declared his wish to manage Liverpool.
“If you ask me, I wanted to coach Liverpool, with all the respect I have for Corinthians,” Pereira said via Globo when asked about his players complaining they were being picked outside of their preferred positions in May 2022.

“Here it’s not what we want, in my concept, in terms of the game, it’s not what we want, it’s what the team needs.”
Pereira was not long for it with the Timao after that, being relieved of his duties barely six months later.
Understandably, Pereira’s public comments about Liverpool were not taken well by the passionate following of Corinthians.
“When Vitor Pereira said that he has already won many classics, he mentioned China, Portugal, Greece and Turkey,” responded UOL journalist Menon.
“Minor leagues, classics that can excite a country, but whose repercussions do not go beyond borders.
With a CV like that, he’ll never make it to Liverpool.
Never.”
Pereira may have been ridiculed for his comments – tongue-in-cheek though they might have been – but perhaps he will be the one having the last laugh on Sunday.
He has not – and will not – realise his wish of managing Liverpool, but he’ll get the next best thing as he walks out at Anfield this weekend.
