Ange Postecoglou’s team earned a first Premier League win in seven weeks away to Brentford yesterday and they bring a one-goal lead to Anfield for the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool on Thursday.
And Son said: “Looking back from the Europa League game, I think this may be the biggest ten days for this team this season.
“We’ve played well past two games and I always say how I approach every game every season like a final.
As a team, we need to prepare well for this game so we can be in that situation.”
The 2-0 win against Thomas Frank’s Bees also marked a first clean sheet since they defeated Southampton in mid-December and it came thanks to some big performances from youngsters Archie Gray and Djed Spence.
“It helps build our confidence and find our rhythm.
“I think we need to praise how all the players played well in a stable defensive structure as well when needed.
I think the players need to be praised for the sacrifices they made and the hard work they put in.”
