Liverpool supporters are on top of the world this Monday after seeing their team win the Premier League title at Anfield.
It has been 35 long years since any Liverpool side celebrated a league win with the fanbase and it’s safe to say the wait was ultimately worth it.
The Reds did of course win the Premier League in 2020 under Jurgen Klopp, but with the coronavirus pandemic still in full flow, Liverpool had to lift the trophy behind closed doors.
In some ways, that only made the wait to see the real thing even more painful.
Liverpool are champions again.
Arne Slot’s team were brilliant on the day, sweeping past a broken Tottenham Hotspur to record a resounding 5-1 win.
But as Ibrahima Konate was quick to point out after the final whistle, it was not just the Liverpool players who turned up in a big way on Sunday.
The fans played a huge part too, starting with the welcome they gave the Liverpool team bus upon its arrival at Anfield.

Speaking to French outlet Canal+ after the game, the centre-back hailed what he’d seen from supporters.

“It’s unbelievable, honestly,” he said.
The 25-year-old has been a key figure in the Reds back line.
Reflecting upon the year as a whole, Konate admitted that he felt Liverpool had ‘steamrollered’ the Premier League.
“Honestly, it’s exceptional,” he said.
“Although there are a couple games remaining, we steamrolled the league, and it’s done, eh?”
Liverpool fans might be worried about Konate after the defender was seen taking some time to reflect privately while sitting in the stands at Anfield.
