The French star has been an immense partner for Virgil van Dijk ever since he arrived from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021 for £36m and will continue to hold that role in the future.

The 25-year-old has gone to feature 120 times for the Reds and many view Konate has a potential future captain at Liverpool.

Liverpool have got themselves into a tricky situation with the contracts of many stars and the France international falls into this category.

The defender is out of contract at Anfield in 2026 and sources in France believe Konate will take his time to decide on his Liverpool future amid interest from around Europe.

The Reds must tie the 25-year-old down long-term, not only because of his performances on the pitch but also because of his presence in the Liverpool dressing room.

Konate seems like a very happy and upbeat person as the French star is often seen joking in clips from training or from behind the scenes at Liverpool’s AXA training centre.

The La Liga giants may have to make a move quickly though as they are not the only club showing an interest in Liverpool’s French star.

Konate is not considering a move away from Liverpool at present and remaining at the Reds is the most likely scenario for his future.

In addition to this, PSG have an interest in Konate and that will be a big draw for the French star as Paris is his hometown.

Although the 25-year-old has no interest in leaving Liverpool, PSG is believed to be a move that intrigues him, however, the Reds can end all this by simply agreeing a new deal with the talented defender.
