As Liverpool passed another tough test in the Premier League with flying colors, the manner in which Arne Slot’s side sliced through Bournemouth’s press was impressive and effective.

The best thing about Bournemouth is their work out of possession as they turn the ball over a lot vs teams high up the pitch in dangerous situations.

Liverpool have the players to bypass this press however and what was noticeable is just how quickly Liverpool attacked the box.

Slot has been praised for changing the style of this Liverpool team and ‘calming’ the attack, but it was apparent Liverpool attacked with speed and directness against Bournemouth to catch the Cherries cold when they committed players up front in attempts to press Liverpool.

Bournemouth had their chances and probably should have scored when Justin Kluivert missed an open net, but Liverpool’s attack feels like it’s so deadly and multi-faceted, they’re always a problem to deal with and often too much to handle.

The intensity and tempo of a game vs Bournemouth is one of the most difficult in the league, Liverpool decided to match it.

There is still a long, long way to go in the title race, Arsenal just as they did last season could go on an incredible winning run after January.

But as Liverpool negotiated a tricky fixture vs Bournemouth, coming out of it as victors, no one can argue with them being the best team in the league.
