Liverpool recharged their batteries this weekend having completed a punishing run of February fixtures.
The Reds had a great month, re-asserting themselves as likely Premier League champions.
But Arne Slot and the Liverpool squad will not want to stop there and have the chance to collect a first trophy of the season in less than two weeks time.
Having won the Carabao Cup last season, the Reds have the chance to go back-to-back when they face Newcastle United at Wembley on March 16th.
And Liverpool’s chances of retaining the last trophy won under Jurgen Klopp were potentially given a boost on Sunday with Anthony Gordon picking up a needless red card against Brighton.
Gordon is set to miss the Carabao Cup final after being handed a three-game suspension.
But as the former Everton man rues his choices, could he yet be a Liverpool player next season?

As was heavily reported over the summer, Gordon almost joined Liverpool during Euro 2024.
The 24-year-old was barely given any playing time by Gareth Southgate, and part of the reason for that was seemingly because a move to Anfield was being sorted out.

There were even reports that Liverpool had a arranged a medical for Gordon, with Joe Gomez set to go the other way to Newcastle.
It would have been a special homecoming for the Scouser, who has since opened up on exactly what the Reds mean to he and his family.

Gordon says his whole family are Liverpool supporters and has conceded that he himself is a boyhood Reds as well.
Ultimately, the 2024 transfer fell through, with Newcastle getting cold feet and pulling the plug.
And after Gordon signed a new contract in October, his proposed arrival at Liverpool took another turn.
After signing his new deal at St James’ Park, Gordon firmly distanced himself from leaving Newcastle.
There is reportedly no release clause in his contract with the Magpies and, as a result, it has been claimed that Gordon is unlikely to join Liverpool in 2025.

However, in quotes from September, journalist Graeme Bailey did concede that if Newcastle fail to qualify for the 2025/26 Champions League, there is no guarantee that the England international will stay.
“If they miss out on Champions League this coming year, you don’t know what’s going to happen,” Bailey told Rousing The Kop at the time.
“But I think that will determine things more so.”
“Many things can change, but obviously his short-term future is definitely at Newcastle.
I would see him staying until after the summer of 2025 now.”
It’s seemingly all still to play for in regards to Gordon and Liverpool as the winger’s relationship with the Reds takes another intriguing twist.
