The length of the contract Liverpool have offered Mohamed Salah has been revealed.
On Wednesday, Liverpool fans were given a very good news regarding Salah’s future after news broke that the Egyptian and the club have reached an agreement over a new deal.
Salah has entered the last two months of his contract and they were fears he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season for Saudi Arabia, where interest in his signature is high.
The 32-year-old’s representatives and Liverpool’s hierarchy have progressed to the point where a resolution is now viewed as inevitable.
This was confirmed by several reputable sources, including The Times’ Paul Joyce.
“Mohamed Salah is closing in on an agreement with Liverpool to extend his contract and remain at Anfield,” the reliable journalist said on Wednesday.
“After a breakthrough in negotiations with Virgil van Dijk, the club’s captain, it is understood that there is a growing expectation that a new deal will also be struck with Salah.”
“His career is set to continue at Liverpool.”
The Times’ report also clarified that Salah’s age had no bearing on the salary structure Liverpool were offering him as widely reported last week,.
“There had been reports this week that Salah’s age meant he was facing a reduction in salary to stay at Liverpool, but is is understood a pay cut has not been on the agenda during talks,” The Times’ report added.
While Joyce did not discuss the length of the contract Liverpool were offering Salah, Winwinall Sports journalist Ismael Mahmoud has provided a few more details on the negotiations between the 32-year-old and Liverpool.
Per the journalist, Salah’s new contract will keep him at the club till 2027.
The report also revealed that Salah never considered leaving Liverpool despite genuine interest from Saudi Arabia clubs.
“There has been a significant alignment between Mohamed Salah and Liverpool over the past two weeks,” Mahmoud wrote on X.
“Salah is expected to sign a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2027.
Despite strong interest from Saudi Arabia, Salah only wanted to stay at Liverpool?
He loves the club and has never considered leaving.”
Securing Salah’s signature would represent a triumph for Liverpool’s post-Klopp transition, affirming their ability to retain elite talent despite managerial change and financial pressures.
For Salah, the deal offers a chance to chase Ian Rush’s all-time scoring record (346 goals) and solidify his legacy as one of Liverpool’s greatest ever players – although he’s reached that milestone already.
With Van Dijk likely to follow suit, Liverpool can approach the summer with stability, turning focus to integrating youth and strategic signings rather than damage control.
