It was fitting end for the final highly charged Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, with the match ending in a 2-2 draw but not without it’s contentious moments.

The Toffees opened the scoring through Everton’s Beto scoring in the 11th minute, only for Liverpool to level through Alexis Mac Allister’s header in the 16th minute.

Mohamed Salah put Liverpool ahead in the 73rd minute, but Everton captain James Tarkowski dramatically equalized deep into stoppage time with a stunning volley.

The goal sparked jubilation among Everton fans, with many invading the pitch, and a lengthy VAR review confirmed the goal was onside.

However, the celebrations quickly turned sour as tensions boiled over after the final whistle, with Curtis Jones and Doucouré were both shown second yellow cards for a getting involved in a brawl post-match.

The situation escalated further when Liverpool manager Arne Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff were also given red cards following an altercation with referee Michael Oliver.
