Liverpool have reportedly entered their most serious contract negotiations with Mohamed Salah yet as the Egyptian superstar edges closer to the exit door.
Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold's contracts all expire at the end of this season and to date, none of them have signed extensions.
Alexander-Arnold looks the most likely player to depart the club with reports suggesting this week that he is closing in on a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid.
Van Dijk has failed to be drawn on his contract status, preferring to focus on the Premier League title race but Salah has been more outspoken.
It is no secret the forward wants to remain at Anfield but he has admitted that currently it looks like he is on the way out of the club.
However, according to Egyptian news outlet Masrawy, Salah's contract negotiations could have taken a step in the right direction.

One of their sources has claimed Salah's agent Rami Abbas is involved in the most advanced negotiations to date with the Liverpool management, reigniting hope that the 32-year-old will extend his stay on Merseyside.
They added that Alexander-Arnold's 'imminent departure' for Real Madrid has opened the door for Salah to stay.
It is believed that losing Alexander-Arnold's wages will allow Liverpool to meet Salah's demands and keep him at the club.
There is no suggestion on how long Salah's extension would be with the Reds clearly keen not to commit to a deal that exceeds his impact on the team.

Officially, Salah will become a free agent on June 30 so the Reds are against the clock to get the situation sorted.
