Alisson has received all sorts of praise following what was arguably his best performance in a Liverpool shirt on Wednesday.
But, coming from a goalkeeping legend, the rave review delivered by Man United icon Peter Schmeichel just after full-time will have likely meant the most to Alisson.

Alisson’s Liverpool future has been in question over recent times.
The imminent arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to put the Brazilian under threat.
But if Mamardashvili was watching on Wednesday, he will have seen that he has plenty of work to do if he is to dislodge Alisson.

On this kind of form, the 32-year-old is still the very best goalkeeper in the world.
And according to Schmeichel, his display in Paris may well have been one of the best goalkeeping performances in the history of the game.

“I actually think it’s one of the best goalkeeping displays I’ve ever seen in my life,” Schmeichel told Alisson himself, while interviewing him for CBS Sports Golazo.
“Without you, Thierry [Henry] said about ten minutes ago you should have lost this game 3-0, I think you made more than three big saves in this.”
Given he is a Champions League winner, a Premier League icon and one of the best goalkeepers of all time, this means a lot coming from Schmeichel.
But if the Dane’s praise wasn’t enough for Alisson, he was given even more by Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher as well.
“Alisson, I’ve got to jump in, I’m sorry Peter,” Carragher laughed while interrupting Schmeichel and Alisson’s moment.
“Alisson, Peter has just said that’s one of the greatest displays he’s ever seen.
It’s the greatest goalkeeping display I’ve ever seen.”
It’s certainly got to be up there.
And what a timely reminder as to just how lucky we are to have the big Brazilian between the sticks.
