Liverpool have been given a fresh take on Trent Alexander-Arnold's future after wild celebrations in the victory over Leicester City.

Heading into the match at the King Power Stadium, the Reds knew that they would not lift the title after Arsenal's victory earlier against Ipswich Town.

With the Foxes trying to keep their hopes of staying in the Premier League alive, Liverpool were forced into a tough game but the winning moment would eventually come with less than 15 minutes remaining.

As the hosts struggled to get the ball clear, Alexander-Arnold fired the ball into the back of the net.

Sparking wild scenes, the 26-year-old ripped off his shirt before celebrating in front of the away contingent.

He was promptly booked for his celebration but it seemed the full-back was unbothered by the punishment.

As the full-back proceeded to lap up the acclaim from the Reds fans Clinton Morrison, who was commentating for BBC Radio 5 Live declared: "If you are leaving a football club, I don't think you celebrate like that."

Alexander-Arnold has been embroiled in plenty of speculation surrounding his future with his contract expiring at the end of this season.

Real Madrid are thought to be keen on signing the defender but Alexander-Arnold has insisted that he will not comment on the contract negotiations.

Giving his verdict on the celebration, Jamie Carragher added on Sky Sports: "You can look at it two ways.

"I don't know whether it was just real joy and sensation of getting such a vital goal or it was a bit of anger with the contract situation.

He looks very happy and rightly so."

Heading into the summer, Liverpool were looking at Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Alexander-Arnold all leaving the club on free transfers.

However in recent weeks, Van Dijk and Salah have both extended their stays at the club.
