Liverpool could lose a number of important players while also needing to add a fresh lick of paint to Arne Slot’s team.
One area of the Liverpool squad which is need of an upgrade is the centre-forward position.
Slot has been unable to nail down a regular starter through the middle of the Reds attack, with Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez all coming in and out of the team.
For many supporters, the dream transfer target is Alexander Isak, who is having another terrific season with Newcastle.
And as rumours continue to swirl around Liverpool and Isak, journalist David Lynch has set his expectation for the summer.

Liverpool should have perhaps signed Isak when they had a chance in 2022.
The Swede instead joined Newcastle, while the Reds opted for Nunez.
Since then, Isak has gone on to become one of the Premier League’s most lethal finishers, while Nunez looks set to leave Liverpool at the end of the campaign.

As a result, fans have pinpointed Isak as the man who can solve their centre-forward struggles.
But according to Lynch, it will be an incredibly hard deal to do.
“I think Liverpool will definitely like him an awful lot because he’s absolutely world-class,” the journalist tells Anfield Index.
“He’s entering his peak years and he’s already experienced in the Premier League.”

“One thing I’m sceptical on is there would need to be some sort of release clause because Newcastle United will be holding out for £120m plus to sign him since he has three years left on his contract.”
“The outcome that I most expect is that Isak stays at Newcastle to be honest,” Lynch concludes.
Diaz is not the answer long-term and Slot will surely want his own man up top.

There will be disappointment within the fanbase hat Isak is looking unlikely, but he is not the only one who could come in.
Benjamin Sesko could be an option for Liverpool, while Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike is arguably just a younger version of Isak.
There are others besides and the Reds will no doubt have a long list being whittled down as we speak.
