Liverpool suffered a shock defeat this weekend against Nottingham Forest, with Italian giants AC Milan coming up next for the Reds.
The revamped UEFA Champions League kicks off next week with Liverpool travelling to the San Siro to face Milan, a mouth-watering tie against two of the most decorated clubs in European history.
With Milan securing their best result of the season under new manager Paulo Fonseca this weekend in a 4-0 win against Venezia, the Rossoneri are in a good position heading into Tuesday’s huge Champions League tie against Liverpool.
And Fonseca has given his verdict on Liverpool after their historic loss to Forest.

Speaking to the press after this weekend’s win, Fonseca tipped Liverpool to give Milan a tough test despite Arne Slot’s side enduring one of their worst results in recent months at Anfield.
Given the immense quality Liverpool have in their squad and how desperate the players will now be to get a result against Milan, there’s a good reason why Fonseca believes the Italian giants will now be in for a difficult game against the Reds.
And Liverpool’s loss against Forest seems to have had little effect on changing Fonseca’s opinion on the Anfield side, with the Milan manager saying: “I have to be honest, I already started thinking about both games against Liverpool and Inter.
“I realise the importance of the derby, Liverpool will be very difficult, but I cannot deny I have already started studying Inter too.
I know what it means to the fans, we are working to have good performances in both matches.”

Liverpool might be reeling from one of their worst results in some time against Forest, yet Fonseca has every right to fear the Premier League giants ahead of their trip to the San Siro next Tuesday.
The Reds will be on a mission to win the Champions League this season under their new manager, with Slot also a coach who will want to prove himself in Europe with Liverpool.
And a win against a titan of the continent in Milan would be huge for Liverpool, with Fonseca right to fear the Merseyside club ahead of their clash in Lombardy next week.
