Liverpool supporters may be hoping for a busy January transfer window after seeing their club do little during the summer.
The mid-season market has often been a fruitful place for the Reds, with a number of influential signings being secured in the winter.
However, Liverpool kept their powder dry in that respect in 2024, and followed that up with a window in which only Federico Chiesa was immediately added to the Liverpool squad.
As a result, fans may believe that a busy January is in order, as the Reds look to capitalise on what has been a terrific start for new head coach Arne Slot.
With that in mind, plenty of transfer rumours have been flying around Anfield.
One of which has seen Liverpool heavily linked with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.
As anticipation of a move for the left-back creeps up, journalist David Lynch has shared what he’s been told about a potential January transfer for Kerkez.

Left-back has been an area of real focus at Liverpool this season.
Slot has toggled between Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas much more than Jurgen Klopp ever did.
Robertson has dropped off a little, leaving Tsimikas to fill the gap ably whenever needed.

Despite having two good players at his disposal, though, the Liverpool head coach does not seem altogether sure that either Robertson or Tsimikas should be his long-term starting left-back.
Nevertheless, speaking on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, journalist Lynch says that the impression he is getting from Liverpool insiders is that signing a replacement – specifically Kerkez – is unlikely to be on the agenda for January.

“I did check this name out with a few sources to see whether there was any truth in that and I have to say I didn’t really get huge encouragement that anything is close for Liverpool,” he says.
So, I’d be kind of surprised if that is the case.”
Waiting until the summer to go properly in for Kerkez does make the most sense for Liverpool.
However, one thing that could change that is if the 21-year-old becomes a serious target for another club.
And, worryingly, journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed Man United’s interest in Kerkez on his YouTube channel on Wednesday.
“In 2025 Man United want to sign an important left-back to play in a different kind of position for Ruben Amorim,” says Romano.
“Let me say in a very clear way Man United are working on a new left-back.
What I can say is that one of the players they have been monitoring before Amorim is Milos Kerkez at Bournemouth.”
Liverpool memorably moved quickly to secure Luis Diaz ahead of time in January 2022 when Tottenham firmed up their interest, a similar scenario shouldn’t be ruled out if United push for Kerkez in the New Year.
