Liverpool face Tottenham tonight in what is being billed as a must-win game for the Reds, with a League Cup final at Wembley Stadium on the line.
Arne Slot’s side heads into this evening’s fixture 1-0 down against the north London side with Tottenham having one foot in the door already for the League Cup final, a title that Liverpool currently hold having won it last season under Jurgen Klopp.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold out for Liverpool for tonight’s contest, the Reds know they will need to be at their best if they’re to beat Tottenham by more than two goals to progress to the final, with fans expecting a statement performance at Anfield.
Indeed, Liverpool could need to pull off one of their best performances of the season if they’re to beat Tottenham later today, and Jamie Carragher has now given his prediction on what might happen tonight on Merseyside.

Speaking on It’s Called Soccer, the Liverpool legend predicted the Reds to get a 3-1 win against Tottenham this evening, with Carragher saying: “I think Liverpool will win on the night, and I think Liverpool will go through, I’ll go 3-1 Liverpool.”
With Cody Gakpo in line to break a 24-year record with Liverpool if he scores tonight, the home side will be up for the occasion against Tottenham, especially with the north London on as bad a run of form as they currently are since the turn of the year.
Moreover, winning the quadruple is an achievable goal for Liverpool side this season, with Slot morphing the Reds into a non-stop winning machine that have been bested only a handful of times in recent months.

Yet whilst Carragher has predicted Liverpool to come out on top against Tottenham, Gary Neville has other ideas about what could happen tonight, even with all the signs suggesting that the Reds will come away with an easy win.
Adding on It’s Called Socer, the former Manchester United captain predicted Tottenham to stun everyone tonight and get a draw against Liverpool, a result that will send the north London side into their second League Cup final in four years.
With Tottenham not winning any silverware since 2011, the League Cup this season could be their golden chance to finally end that barren run, and a draw against Liverpool could set Spurs on their way to ending their trophy drought.
Nevill said when asked about his prediction tonight: “I think Tottenham are going to get a draw.
I don’t know how they’re going to get a draw at Anfield, but I feel like it’s going to be an emotional, mad night where something happens.”
