Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus has admitted he would love to sign Mohamed Salah at the end of the season - with the Egyptian set to leave Liverpool.

Salah, 32, is into the final four months of his current deal at Anfield and in January, admitted that he was "far away" from reaching an agreement with the club over an extension.

The Egyptian, however, has made no secret of his desire to prolong his career at Anfield and continue writing his name into the club's history books, with his goal in Wednesday's Merseyside Derby taking him to within three goals of the great Gordon Hodgson on the all-time scoring list.

But Salah won't be short of suitors if he is to end his eight-year stay at the club at the end of the season, with teams in the Saudi Pro League keen on making a swoop for the Egyptian superstar.

The forward, the subject of a £150m bid from Al-Ittihad in September 2023, has been linked with a move to Al Hilal for most of this season as talk around his future has rumbled on.

Earlier this week, the club's manager, Jesus, admitted that he would love to join his side at the end of the season and believes the former Chelsea and AS Roma forward would suit Al-Hilal's style of play.

"I would like to have Salah at Al-Hilal, he has a way of playing that fits the team," Jesus told Canal11 when discussing the prospect of signing the Egyptian.

Earlier this week, Salah's former Liverpool team-mate Dejan Lovren claimed the Egyptian was "closer to leaving than staying at Anfield".

"We are still in touch.

We talk every now and then, yes," said Lovren, who spent six years at Liverpool before leaving to join Zenit St Petersburg in 2020.

Salah believes that there are things missing from the club side, and I hope they’ll be resolved soon.

But the current reality is that he’s closer to leaving than staying.

"Everyone wants him to stay, and I personally want him to stay.

Look at everything you've given this club and what you can still give.'"
