Many Liverpool supporters are convinced Ibrahima Konate was pushed in the back by Beto (Image: TNT Sports)
Gary Lineker believes only a "brave" person would have disallowed Everton's equaliser against Liverpool for a foul on Ibrahima Konate.
The shockwaves of the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park are still being felt amongst fans from both sides.
James Tarkowski's last-minute volley could prove to have a huge impact on the Reds' title hopes, particularly as Arne Slot's side face a tricky spell of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa and Manchester City within a seven-day period.
After the ball smashed the back of the net, there was a lengthy VAR review to decide whether Beto had pushed Konate just before Tarkowski's goal.
Eventually, referee Michael Oliver pointed to the centre circle to signal the goal stood, cuing more rapturous celebrations in the stands.
As Arne Slot and Liverpool players continue to fume about the decision, the former England internationals agreed with Oliver's call and the fact VAR official Chris Kavanagh didn't intervene with the on-field verdict – stating only a truly bold person would have considered disallowing it.
After Lineker asked Alan Shearer and Micah Richards if they were in agreement on the Rest is Football podcast, the latter said: "There was a little nudge, but I don’t think it was enough."
Lineker added: “I didn’t think there was enough either.
You would have to be a brave man to disallow that one.” Shearer also contributed his thoughts, by bluntly saying: “No, not enough for me.”

Soon after the goal, the official Premier League match centre focused on the offside call, and tweeted: "The referee’s call of goal was checked and confirmed by the VAR, who established that Doucouré was in an onside position in the build-up."
After the match, Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk, who had to carry out post-match interviews due to Slot being handed a red card, said: "I think it was already over time, that was my view, and in my opinion, it was a foul on Ibou [Konate].
"During the game [Oliver] gave numerous times these kind of fouls but in the end It was an outstanding finish, and then you have to deal with that.

"I think the ref, and I told the ref, he didn't have it under the control we wanted.
I think some of the moments during the game, some fouls were easily given and some weren't, and in the end these moments are decisive."
Focussing his attention on the red cards to Slot and his assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff, Van Dijk added: "When the ref gives the manager and assistant coach a red as well that's a bit strange.
"But it is what it is.
