Richard Keys offered a scathing assessment of Simon Hooper's refereeing performance in Liverpool's win over Wolves - calling his decision not to send off Ibrahima Konate a "f*** up".
He then mistimed an aerial challenge on Cunha and clattered into him just seconds before half-time.
Despite the second infringement, Hooper decided against handing the defender another booking with Wolves having to settle for just a free-kick.
Aware that Konate was running the risk of getting sent down the tunnel, Arne Slot promptly replaced him at the break for Jarell Quansah.
The France international is expected to play a part in Liverpool's Wednesday clash at Aston Villa.
Alongside a frustrated Wolves, the former Sky Sports presenter believed Konate should have received a second yellow and blamed Hooper for making a mistake, as he wrote in his online blog.
"And now we know why Konate wasn’t sent off," the beIN Sports host said.
It was because Simon Hooper f***** up.

Keys, 67, took aim at the referee's fitness, claiming he had a hard time keeping up with the play in last Sunday's game.
