Liverpool look set to do battle with some of the Premier League’s top sides for a new striker this summer.
Along with the Reds, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United could all do with improving their goal-scoring options.
Luckily, there are a number of top centre-forwards set to be on the market, with Liverpool’s interest in Alexander Isak taking the headlines so far.
Isak may be impossible to get out of Newcastle, however, meaning Liverpool have to set their sights elsewhere.
As well as the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is another who could be eyeing a move to England this summer.
And as Osimhen prepares to return from his loan spell at Galatasaray, Liverpool have been mentioned as holding a long-standing interest in the 26-year-old.

Osimhen has been one of the top strikers in Europe since his move to Napoli in 2021.
Unfortunately, things ultimately turned sour for the Nigerian in Naples, though, and he joined Galatasaray on-loan last summer.

Osimhen has been just as lethal as ever in Turkey, hitting 28 goals in 32 games this term.
But according to Sky Sports, his good form is unlikely to have changed Napoli’s stance on Osimhen.
Manager Antonio Conte is said to be happy to get rid of the former Lille striker.

Interestingly, Liverpool are claimed to have ‘admired Osimhen for some time’ and with his £100m valuation from last year reported to have been reduced, he is suggested as one of three clear options on the Reds’ radar.
The other two are Isak and Sesko, but with the limitations of a move for the Newcastle man clear, Sesko is also named as being ‘more of a risk’ for Liverpool.
On the back of the Sky report, journalist Fabrizio Romano weighed in on Friday night to give his take on the situation with Osimhen this summer.
And, given Liverpool’s interest, it could be good news.
“Napoli want to sell the player as soon as possible,” Romano told his YouTube channel.
“So, forget about an Osimhen saga end of July, end of August as we had last summer.
Napoli don’t want the same situation.
“Manchester United interest is still there but not guaranteed because of the salary, it’s a very expensive package.”
With any of these options promising to cost Liverpool an arm and a leg, perhaps the reduction on Osimhen’s price-tag will put him further up their list of targets.
