The summer transfer window is yet to officially open, yet Real Madrid have already proven to be a thorn in Liverpool’s side.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to join Madrid with Los Blancos putting in nearly a year’s worth of work to lure the Liverpool defender to the Spanish capital, with a deal expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
With Madrid also interested in Alexis Mac Allister, there’s a chance that the European giants could make a move for a second Liverpool player with the La Liga side set for a big squad overhaul this summer, much like the Reds.
Yet Madrid might have now just handed Liverpool a huge boost in their bid to sign a top transfer target this summer.

Speaking on Market Madness, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Madrid are yet to decide on if they want to sign a centre-back this summer, handing Liverpool a big boost in their bid to sign AFC Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, who is wanted by both sides.
Romano said: “I’m hearing that internally at Real Madrid, they have still not decided whether they want to sign a centre-back or not in the summer, how much they want to spend.
“So that’s why Real Madrid are not so convinced, not about Huijsen, but about signing a new centre-back in the summer.
So Liverpool will be there, Arsenal will be there, Chelsea will be there.

“The release clause is £50m, so the negotiation is on player side, basically.
And I’m sure that all these three clubs will push and push again in the next days, weeks, to try reach an agreement with Dean Huijsen and his camp.”
Huijsen is Liverpool’s main centre-back target for the summer, with the 20-year-old talent enjoying an explosive first season in the Premier League with Bournemouth that has led to interest from every major club in Europe as well as a senior call-up for Spain.
And with Madrid hesitant on whether or not they even want to sign a defender, Liverpool can’t waste any time in trying to bring Huijsen to Merseyside, with the defender’s £50m release clause a figure that the Reds can easily match.
Indeed, Huijsen ticks all the boxes Liverpool are looking for in a defensive signing this summer, and the Amsterdam-born centre-back is the perfect signing for the Reds this off-season, with Madrid now handing the Anfield side a big boost.
