Former Premier League forward Troy Deeney believes Liverpool would be 'a joke' of an attacking force if they were to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United this summer.

The Reds have been the standout side in the top flight this season and are on the brink of title glory.

A win for Crystal Palace at Arsenal on Wednesday would be enough to make it mathematically certain, although victory for Liverpool against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday would also clinch the prize should the Gunners win.

The success of the team has largely been down to the form of Mohamed Salah, who has scored 27 goals and notched 18 assists in the top flight this season.

That's a joke of a move."

Arsenal have also been linked with Isak, who would surely command a huge fee if he was to go on the market this summer.

However, Newcastle are in a strong position to secure Champions League football and would be under no financial pressure to cash in on their star man in the coming months.
