Andy Robertson admits "it is impossible" for the Liverpool squad to ignore the ongoing speculation around Trent Alexander-Arnold's future but says his team-mate is simply focused on returning from injury right now.
Alexander-Arnold is out of contract at the end of the campaign and has been courted for some time by Real Madrid, who are keen to bring the England international to the Spanish capital on a free transfer at the end of the season.

It was reported during the international break that the Champions League holders had stepped up their efforts to sign the Reds star, although Liverpool have yet to be informed by either the club or the player that an agreement has been reached.

Los Blancos had a tentative advance immediately rejected by Liverpool before the January transfer window had even opened in late December, but the La Liga giants remain confident of signing Alexander-Arnold.
Robertson concedes the reports have filtered into the dressing room but says his injured colleague is mainly thinking about getting himself fit once more after suffering an ankle injury in the penalty-shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on March 11.
"Trent’s head is not great because he’s injured," Robertson said.
But for us we just want another right-back option back and Trent is a huge player for that and hopefully he is back on the pitch very soon."
Robertson was speaking after Wednesday night's 1-0 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby, courtesy of Diogo Jota's second-half strike, and Arne Slot's team now need just 13 points from their final eight games to become champions of England for a 20th time.
The long-serving left-back insists the players are yet to dream about what a title parade might look like in the city, having been denied such a prospect when champions five years ago, but says the supporters are under no such obligation and should be allowed to envision those scenes.
"I’ve been interviewed many times, but no one here is allowing us to believe or think like that," he added.
If the time comes we will be sure to enjoy it, but we are not thinking that far ahead.
"We just look to the next game.
Every time we win three points the gap becomes bigger for us.
"We have eight games left, every time we pick up three points brings us closer to where we want to be.
It was good to be back to winning ways tonight, we go again Sunday which will be a really tough game."
On the derby itself, Robertson said: "Look, derby days are never easy.
You just want a game the next game if possible to try to put it right.
"But mentally it has been a great break for me, I have been able to switch off from football and spend a bit of family time.
