Liverpool supporters may have expected to have seen more from their batch of exciting young players this season.
The Reds looked primed for a few of ‘Klopp’s kids’ to kick on this term after breaking out under the former manager in 2023/24.
However, for the most part, Arne Slot has refrained from handing too much game time to those knocking on the door from the Liverpool academy.
Nevertheless, there are still one or two who have clearly caught the eye of the Liverpool head coach.
One of those is striker Jayden Danns, who underlined his potential with a goal from the bench against Accrington Stanley last Saturday.
And just to reiterate what a talent he is, Danns hit the front with another goal for the Reds’ U21s on Wednesday evening.

By and large it has been a slightly frustrating season for Danns so far.
Injury at the beginning of the campaign prevented a loan move which would have been brilliant for his development.
Nevertheless, Danns is clearly making up for lost time now.
The striker – who turns 19 on Thursday – is an enormous prospect.

Robbie Fowler hailed Danns’ ‘incredible’ attitude after his poacher’s goal against Accrington and the teenager showed his predatory instincts again on Thursday.
Sprinting onto a perfect through-ball from fellow prospect James McConnell, Danns coolly rounded the goalkeeper and poked into an empty net to put Liverpool 1-0 up inside 10 minutes against Sparta Prague.

Unfortunately, the young Reds couldn’t hang on in the Premier League International Cup, eventually going down 3-1 to the Czech side.
Still, Danns caught the eye of former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor, who singled him out on X after the game.
“Sparta Prague too good tonight for the Young Reds,” said Mellor.
“Jayden Danns scored a good goal on last day as an 18 year old.”
Although he only ended up playing 18 minutes for Liverpool at the weekend, Danns was still the talk of the town after the game.
And having been asked about the striker during his post-match press conference, Slot himself hinted that Danns could have a bigger role in the first-team at some point in the future.
““He will always give all he has,” said the Dutch coach.
“And if that is your mentality, then you can definitely get the most of your potential and that is what is going to happen with him.
“What his potential is, that probably needs some time to find out if he, in the end, will be a starter for us but he will have a very good career because of his mentality, I’m very sure.”
With each passing week, Danns is proving those words to be true.
