Mohamed Salah is on course to enjoy what could go down as the greatest individual season in the Premier League.
The Liverpool winger this weekend made even more history as Salah broke the record for the most goal contributions in a single Premier League campaign after assisting Luis Diaz for the Reds’ opener against West Ham.
With Salah finally signing a new deal with Liverpool last week, there’s a real chance that the attacker can go from strength-to-strength in the next two seasons with the Anfield side, where more records will be broken by the winger.
And Alan Shearer has now given his verdict on if Salah can beat his all-time Premier League goalscoring record in the future.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, the pundit admitted that Salah has a shot at breaking his Premier League goalscoring record, even with the Liverpool winger under 80 goals away from matching the former Newcastle United man’s tally.
Salah currently sits joint-fifth on the all-time listing with Sergio Aguero, yet after signing a new contract coupled with the season the winger is having, Shearer thinks the Liverpool winger has a chance at making Premier League history.

Shearer said: “I’m delighted to see another great player sitting behind me for another couple of years!
He’s an incredible talent, he’ll definitely have a chance the way he’s been, the way he is and the way Liverpool are going.
“Liverpool are only going to go one way, they’re going to get better, they’re going to sign players in the summer, they’re going to win the league this season.
He’ll have a good go like a few others have.”
Shearer’s Premier League scoring record has always felt like one of those achievements that might never be beaten, with Harry Kane the player who has come the closest to matching the striking legend’s tally before taking his talents to Bayern Munich last season.
And for Salah, breaking Shearer’s record feels like a bridge too far, with the Liverpool winger in need of realistically hitting 30+ goals in the next three seasons if he’s to become the new leading scorer in the Premier League.
With Salah’s contract only lasting until 2027 and this season feeling like lightning caught in a bottle, the chances of the 32-year-old becoming the new all-time Premier League goalscorer look slim to none, with too many factors in the way for the forward.
