Liverpool returned to the AXA Training Centre this week, gearing up for a potentially historic weekend where just one more win could see them crowned Premier League champions.

With spirits high and the title in sight, the Reds went through gym work before hitting the training pitches at Kirkby, with Mohamed Salah finally sharing a long-awaited selfie alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold (Twitter).

The title-chasing squad looked sharp, with 25 players reporting for duty and no new injury concerns arising from the Leicester victory.

Only Joe Gomez remains out, while Tyler Morton continues to build fitness after shoulder surgery.

Federico Chiesa, who was left out of the Leicester matchday squad despite being fit, returned to training.

With Alexander-Arnold’s comeback, Slot will face a tough decision over who makes the bench this weekend.

Youth talents James McConnell and Trey Nyoni were once again involved in first-team training, although their inclusion on Sunday seems unlikely with a full-strength senior squad available.

Excitement is rising at Anfield, not just for Sunday’s clash against Tottenham, but for what could happen even earlier in the week.

If Arsenal fail to beat Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, Liverpool will officially be crowned champions, without having to kick another ball.

It would mirror the events of 2020, when the Reds celebrated the title together after Chelsea beat Manchester City.

The team is planning to gather again to watch Arsenal’s match, hoping to seal it similarly.

However, if Arsenal win or draw, Liverpool will need to match that result at Anfield on Sunday to lift the trophy in front of a home crowd.

Either way, a 20th league title is within reach.
