The future of Luis Diaz remains uncertain at Liverpool heading into the summer transfer window.
The winger has been brilliant for the Reds this season as the Colombian’s versatility has allowed Arne Slot to use him on the left and as his number-nine throughout different periods of the campaign.
Diaz has produced 12 goals and three assists across 32 matches for Liverpool and at present, the speedy attacker is a star the Merseyside club will not want to lose.
However, with an expiring contract in 2027 and the fact that he has just turned 28, will the hierarchy at Anfield look to move the former Porto star on during the summer?
Liverpool have a big decision to make regarding the future of Diaz and journalist David Lynch has the feeling that the end may be near for the Colombian star on Merseyside.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool enter contract talks with Diaz as there is strong interest in the player from around Europe and the Merseyside club’s board may see this as an opportunity to bring in a significant fee to recruit a younger star for their forward line.
Barcelona have shown interest in Diaz in recent months and could submit a bid worth £59m during the summer.

Speaking to Anfield Index, Liverpool journalist David Lynch has commented on the Colombian’s situation and has admitted that he has a feeling the Premier League leaders may try and move the winger on.
“Diaz has been hugely helpful this season, filling in at centre-forward, he started this season very well on that left-hand side but he is 28, there is that interest in him, he’s two years out [from being out of contract],” Lynch said.
“From his agent’s side, he has clearly been using that interest to push for a new contract or a sale.
Barcelona will likely be the player’s destination of choice but if the Catalan club cannot afford the 22-year-old that is where Liverpool may step in.
Lynch is not entirely convinced that Liverpool will move for Williams this summer with the Reds journalist also admitting that the transfer could be linked to the situation of Diaz.

“There is a long way between admiring someone and a player you would necessarily target.
Maybe Liverpool feel they can get more of that out of him,” Lynch told Anfield Index.
“They tend to look for players who have a track record for that kind of stuff and feel that they can bring that so that is kind of an interesting one and also the competition around him will be massive, the wages will be huge as well.
“I don’t know if he will be someone Liverpool are desperate for and of course, if they were to sign someone like him, a left winger, it would have to be because someone like Luis Diaz left.”
The Premier League may be Williams’ next destination, however, it remains to be seen if Liverpool are the club where the winger lands.
