Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to leave Liverpool this summer, with Andrea Cambiaso one player who could replace the England international.

The Juventus defender has been one of the few bright sparks for the Serie A giants in recent years with Cambiaso proving himself to be one of the best fullbacks in Europe in the last two seasons, with the Italian international capable of playing on both flanks.

And Liverpool have now been linked with a move for Cambiaso, with the Genoa-born defender being lined up as a potential replacement for the Real Madrid-bound Alexander-Arnold, with a deal close to being agreed upon by the two parties.

However, Cambiaso’s agent has now addressed recent rumours linking the Juventus star with a move to Liverpool.

Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Giovanni Bia completely shot down the idea of Cambiaso leaving Juventus, with the agent touching on Alexander-Arnold’s pending move to Madrid as something that inspired the rumour.

Cambiaso’s agent said when asked of the defender will leave Juventus this summer: “He is absolutely focused on Juventus.

His goal is Juventus and to do very well there.

He is absolutely happy at Juventus, he has always said it in a thousand ways and in a thousand places.

“His dream is to bring Juventus back to great levels, to play for Juventus and to have a great career at Juventus, helping the club to return to winning ways on a par with the European big clubs.

But I have no doubt that within one or two years, he will do it.”

Attempting to find a like-for-like replacement for Alexander-Arnold will be a fools errand for Liverpool, with the 26-year-old defender one of the most unique players in the world with a profile that is unlike anything else out there in the world.

As a result, Liverpool trying to find a replacement for Alexander-Arnold in terms of what the England international offers will only end in disappointment for the Reds, who will need to look at the problem through a new lens to solve the issue.

Indeed, Jamie Carragher has already suggested that Liverpool should look to sign a versatile defender who can help Arne Slot out in numerous positions, and with Cambiaso capable of doing just that, the Juventus man would have been a solid fit this summer for the Reds.
