Arne Slot’s first season at Liverpool has gone better than many expected.

The Dutch coach had the daunting task of having to take over from Jurgen Klopp after the German coach opted to end his contract early on Merseyside at the end of last season having delivered every trophy possible to Reds fans.

Slot’s task was made harder by the fact that Liverpool only added Federico Chiesa to his squad, but that has not stopped the former Feyenoord boss from guiding the Reds to the top of the Premier League.

A big part of Slot’s success is that he discovered his best 11 early in the season and has had them available consistently.

Salah is in the form of his life this season and the Egyptian star is putting together a campaign worthy of winning the Ballon d’Or according to Theo Walcott.

With the winger’s goal contributions alone in the Premier League, Liverpool would be third in the table according to Michael Reid, which highlights just how brilliant the 32-year-old has been.

This also highlights how reliant Liverpool have been on Salah and fans would not needed to have seen the graphic to know this as it has played out in front of them across recent games.

Isak has been heavily linked to Liverpool in recent weeks as the Swedish star can provide the goals the likes of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have failed to do.

The Dutch coach needs to work with his forward line during pre-season and get the best out of Federico Chiesa and Diaz, especially when it comes to putting the ball into the net.

Liverpool are unlikely to bring in another attacker if Isak is signed, but the Swedish star, as well as some hard work on the training field, should be enough to get the Reds scoring goals next season without having to rely on Salah all of the time.
