Jamie Carragher's analysis during the game rang true when Arne Slot decided to substitute Ibrahima Konate at half-time after the defender found himself in the book with a yellow card against Wolves.
Diaz's nifty footwork got him past Emmanuel Agbadou of Wolves, only to be felled by keeper Jose Sa, resulting in a penalty that Salah dispatched coolly.
Moments later though, Konate had pulses racing among Liverpool fans as he made a risky challenge to give Wolves a free-kick just outside the hosts' penalty area, having already picked up a yellow card earlier in the first half.

Despite the protests from the visitors, Carragher was adamant that Konate was right to escape further punishment - although he wasn't impressed by the Frenchman's decision-making: "It is a stupid challenge by Konate but it's not a yellow card, just two players going for a header and one gets there before the other," Carragher observed on Sky Sports.
He voiced his doubt that Konate would return for the second half.
The pundit also recollected a similar incident at Goodison Park in the 2-2 clash with Everton earlier in the week.
"It's not a yellow card," he repeated.

Despite a nervy finish, Liverpool managed to hold on to beat Wolves 2-1 and extend its advantage over Arsenal back to seven points at the top of the Premier League, with Slot admitting afterward he had substituted Konate at half-time to spare him a potential red card.
