Jamie Carragher has criticised Liverpool following their Carabao Cup final defeat to Newcastle United.
The former Reds defender believes the Reds energy ran out after being second-best to Eddie Howe's side.
Dan Burn and Alexander Isak were on target to fire Newcastle to within touching distance of their first domestic cup since 1955, Federico Chiesa's effort in stoppage time sparked some concern, but it wasn't enough for Liverpool.
Arne Slot will be left to mull over a missed opportunity going into the international break with Liverpool licking their wounds before they return to Premier League action against Everton, looking to extend their lead at the top of the table - which was reduced to 12 points after Arsenal's win over Chelsea.

The Reds week took another chastening turn, after their Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, with their abysmal display.
Carragher felt the Magpies 'wiped the floor' with Liverpool.
"Newcastle didn't just win, they battered Liverpool, it should have been three or four-nil," he said.
"Liverpool got a consolation at the end, I find it difficult to be too critical because of what this Liverpool team are looking like they are going to achieve which is something not many people expected.

"Liverpool were poor in Paris Saint-Germain but you can understand in terms of opposition.
Newcastle are a good Premier League team but they've wiped the floor with them.
"The legs have ran out of steam, from their point of view thankfully they've got a lead in the Premier League and hopefully they'll be able to see that home."
