Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has underlined the importance of the Reds' upcoming game against Manchester City, suggesting it could prove to be a title decider.

Liverpool, who has been held to a draw in two of its last three matches, is set to visit the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, and come face-to-face with Pep Guardiola's side that is reeling from a Champions League exit and a poor title defense.

The Reds top the table, eight points clear with an extra game played over Arsenal.

Should Liverpool falter and Arsenal capitalize with a win over West Ham, the dynamics of the title race could dramatically change.

Carragher highlighted the potential impact in his column for The Telegraph: "Beat Manchester City at the Etihad and win the title.
