Despite Dominik Szoboszlai playing a big part under Arne Slot this season, Carragher feels Liverpool must aim higher in that position next season.

Szoboszlai has been one of the most-used players for the Reds.

“I think [with] Szoboszlai, Liverpool can improve that,” he said.

10 role could push Liverpool further.

“Not squad players,” he stressed, “but three players to come straight into the team.”

Interestingly, Szoboszlai has offered some insight into his role on the pitch.

“Sometimes I feel like if I wouldn’t have done that I would have more energy for attacking,” he admitted.

His commitment is clear, but with ten Premier League attacking midfielders having more goal contributions, Liverpool might want someone more explosive in that spot.

Two Morgans — Rogers and Gibbs-White — have even been loosely linked with the Reds already.

Carragher’s call for change might not be music to Szoboszlai’s ears, but for Liverpool, it’s all about finding the right tune next season.
