Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher went through the rollercoaster of emotions on Wednesday night despite covering the Champions League.

Famously, Carragher grew up supporting Everton but his affiliation switched to the Reds after a successful career at the Anfield club.

Since retiring from professional football, Carragher has carved out work as a pundit to further success.



The ECHO has rounded up how the 47-year-old reacted to the big moments from the dramatic 2-2 draw.

Mohamed Salah and Carragher have found themselves at loggerheads this season regarding the Egyptian's contract situation.

Salah's deal is expected to expire at the end of the season and he has been outspoken about his desire to remain a Liverpool player.

However, Carragher has been critical at the lengths the forward has gone to, to gain a new deal.

That was all forgotten when Salah scored in the 73rd minute to put Liverpool ahead for the first time on the night.

As the winger wheeled away in celebration, Carragher exclaimed: "Yes, get in, give him what he wants."

The ecstasy would not last for Carragher though as he was brought down to Earth in the final minute as James Tarkowski lashed home an equaliser.

The production assistant ruffled the former Liverpool man's hair as Carragher burst out laughing.

After the dust had settled and he was given a chance to reflect following the disappointment, Carragher was left content with Liverpool's position at the top of table after the derby.
