Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has revealed Jayden Danns could be back in around a month as he continues to recuperate at Kirkby following the injury that was unearthed earlier this month.
Danns played four times for Liverpool in the first half of the season, despite missing the first three months of the campaign with an injury.
Speaking after the match, Le Bris said: We are trying to build a connection with Jayden and the team.
He is having his treatment at Liverpool but we are doing what we can to build that connection for when he is ready.”
That defeat to Hull saw Sunderland lose further ground on the top two in the Championship, although the Wearside club will be watching as second-place Sheffield United host leaders Leeds United on Monday night.
Jayden Danns scored in the FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley at the start of January
The academy graduate has played nine times for Liverpool and has scored three goals
