Liverpool forward Jayden Danns has completed a loan move to Sunderland.
There was lots of competition for Danns, and Liverpool was only willing to sanction a loan move late in the window, following a congested period of fixtures and the risk of potential injuries to more senior forwards.
Sunderland ultimately got a deal done, but the medical showed an injury issue for the youngster himself, meaning he will remain at the AXA Training Centre for the time being.
Routine tests completed as part of the deal showed that Danns is carrying a back injury.
Following dialog between the two clubs and the player, it was agreed that he should complete his rehabilitation under the eye of Arne Slot and his staff, before joining up with Sunderland for the remainder of its push for Premier League promotion.
Reflecting its continued confidence in the player, Liverpool agreed a new long-term deal with Danns before sanctioning his loan move to Sunderland
