Former Celtic fullback Jeremie Frimpong has left Liverpool with a potential transfer headache head of the summer window.

According to Sky Sports Germany, the Netherlands international has made clear he won't be joining the Reds - or any other English club this summer.

But he feels the Premier League is too physical and doesn’t fit his style of play.

It leaves Liverpool in a tough spot as he was reportedly a target to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who looks increasingly likely to depart for Real Madrid on a free in the summer.

But that further complicates the Reds academy product's plans as Frimpong has also set his sights on joining the Spanish giants.

The reason the former Hoop didn’t make a move last last summer is due to Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso's decision to stay in the Bundesliga and the fact he has a contract until 2028.

Sky Germany also adds he would be interested in a switch to Barcelona.

With 3 goals and 5 assists in 25 Bundesliga outings, Frimpong has become an indispensable component of Leverkusen’s right flank.

But tempers are frayed in the Die Werself camp after Frimpong and Florian Wirtz were snapped exchanging a war of words on the bench during the 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in their Champions League last-16 first leg.
