Curtis Jones was spoken to by Liverpool coach Johnny Heitinga after the final whistle(Image: TNT Sports)
Liverpool’s assistant Johnny Heitinga told Curtis Jones to 'stay calm' after being sent off for his altercation with Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, according to a professional lip reader.
A thrilling final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park ended all square after James Tarkowski's late goal – not that the drama finished there.
With Arne Slot’s side looking like they’d sealed all three points, Tarkowski fired home in the eighth minute of added time to steal a point for the Toffees and spark bedlam in the stands and on the pitch.
After the full time whistle sounded, Doucoure went over to celebrate in front of the travelling Reds fans - something Jones didn't take kindly to.
A brawl ensued, with the pair both receiving second yellow cards.
Manager Slot and his assistant, Sipke Hulshoff, were also shown red by referee Michael Oliver.
With the players separated, Jones continued to vent his frustrations in the direction of Doucoure, as Heitinga seemed to have been trying to usher in some calmness.

According to professional lip reader Jeremy Freeman, Jones aimed an insult in the direction of Doucoure after they were separated, telling the midfielder: "Hey, you’re f***ed."
Jones was then shown a second yellow by referee Oliver and guided off the pitch by Heitinga - a former Everton centre-half - who is said to have told the 24-year-old: "Calm… shh… stay calm." According to Freeman, the Englishman responded by saying: "Hey, that’s s**t."
The altercation marred a fitting final renewal of this fixture at Everton’s long-time home before they move to Bramley-Moore Dock ahead of the 2025/26 season.
David Moyes’ men were in front just after just 10 minutes when Beto poked home from a well-worked quick free-kick.
"Curtis Jones, clearly upset, decided to get involved, and he finished up with a second yellow followed by red.
