Virgil van Dijk has signed a new two-year contract with Liverpool.

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has given his response to Virgil van Dijk’s new contract with the Reds, with a message to the defender.
Van Dijk ended any speculation over his future on Thursday by putting pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal.
Just days after the confirmation of the new deal he could become the first captain since Henderson to lead Liverpool to a Premier League title.
Henderson lifted the trophy back in 2019, but it came at a time where fans weren’t allowed in stadiums due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A win over Leicester City on Sunday afternoon, coupled with Arsenal losing against Ipswich a couple of hours earlier will see Liverpool confirmed as Champions.
Arne Slot’s men are currently 13 points clear of second placed Arsenal with just six games left to play.

Ahead of the weekend’s game, Liverpool confirmed that Van Dijk had followed teammate Mohamed Salah in signing a new two-year contract at Anfield.
The former captain responded with a heart emoji.
The midfielder left Liverpool in the summer of 2023 to join Saudi side Al-Ettifaq.
