Liverpool is among a host of sides pursuing Dean Huijsen this summer.
Remarkably, the Reds could be his fourth club since January 2024 — and during a loan stint with Roma, then-manager Jose Mourinho made a big prediction about the defender.
At the beginning of last season, Huijsen was struggling to make the grade at Juventus.
Among the most baffling questions is why Juventus let Huijsen go at all, especially after his successful loan spell under Mourinho.
It sold him to Bournemouth for a very modest $17 million last summer, yet ended up loaning in Pierre Kalulu and Lloyd Kelly to help cover the position. In fairness, Huijsen did end the Serie A campaign on the bench at Roma, so it's not as though he made himself completely unsellable.
But he still managed to impress with the chances he was given, and Mourinho was well aware of his talent.
"We all know who he is," Mourinho said when Roma agreed the loan (via Football Italia).
