Liverpool did what many had predicted they would for most of the season on Sunday - win the Premier League.

Arne Slot, in his first season at the helm, secured a record-equalling 20th league title with the Reds.

He accomplished it in spectacular style as his team thrashed Tottenham 5-1 at Anfield, mirroring the ruthless form they've shown throughout the 2024/25 season.



Remarkably, he managed to achieve the feat while only making one outfield signing last summer in Federico Chiesa, who played a minimal role in their hugely successful campaign.

That not only speaks volumes about the Dutchman's tactical prowess and character to fit in so effortlessly, but also highlights the phenomenal job his predecessor Jurgen Klopp did in building such a skilled squad from scratch.

Klopp narrowly missed out on securing his second Premier League title in his final season, despite topping the table for the first few months of 2024.

Yet, it wasn't until one unforgettable night in May 2019 that Jose Mourinho, the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss, truly acknowledged Klopp's profound impact.

Liverpool faced a daunting task at Anfield, needing to reverse a 3-0 first-leg deficit against Barcelona in their Champions League semi-final tie.

And so, while Slot conquered the league in dominant fashion in his debut season in England, the current Reds head coach knew to tip his hat to the architect of the club’s modern-day success.
