Liverpool’s international break has gotten off to a worrying start with a number of players in the wars.
Having looked tired collectively before heading off to play for their countries, the last thing the Reds needed was more injury problems.
Unfortunately, as it so often is during this final international pause of the campaign, that is exactly what Liverpool have got.
Alisson Becker was taken off with a head injury during Brazil’s win over Colombia on Thursday while there were initially concerns over Ibrahima Konate who was substituted at half-time for France.
Prior to that, Ryan Gravenberch had pulled out of the Netherlands squad ahead of their Nations League clash against Spain.
And with Liverpool fans sweating over the fitness of one of their most influential players, an update has finally been given on the severity of Gravenberch’s issue.

Having started him in every single one of Liverpool’s Premier League games this season, Arne Slot could hardly have wished for a worse player to lose than Gravenberch at this point.
However, the 22-year-old has looked leggy recently and it was not a surprise to see him pick up a problem with the Netherlands.

According to journalist Nizaar Kinsella, though, the issue is only ‘precautionary.’
Taking to X on Friday morning, Kinsella reported that Gravenberch is expected to be fit and ready for Liverpool’s title run-in.

“Told Ryan Gravenberch pulled out of the Netherlands squad for precautionary reasons,” says the BBC journalist.
“He should be ready for Liverpool’s important title run in.”
While this is a relief for Slot and Liverpool supporters, it could also actually turn into really decent news.

Gravenberch has looked badly in need of a rest for several months now.
Having more than two weeks off at this stage of the campaign could end up being crucial for him.
Elsewhere, it has been reported that Alisson could miss Brazil’s next game but as his problem is concussion related, it is likely he will be back fit by the time Liverpool play Everton on April the 2nd.
Otherwise, it was pleasing to see Cody Gakpo get 90 minutes – and score – for the Netherlands against Spain after his own recent fitness problems.
That leaves the right-back trio of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez as the only injured members of the Liverpool squad.
