Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez is believed to be eager to remain at the La Liga club in summer despite Liverpool's renewed interest in the striker.
The Reds have reportedly been keeping tabs on the former Manchester City player ahead of the upcoming transfer window after Alvarez’s agent, Fernando Hidalgo, confirmed that Liverpool was interested in signing the striker from the Etihad side last summer.
The 25-year-old, now linked with a potential move to Anfield once again, made over 100 appearances for City but grew frustrated playing second-fiddle to Erling Haaland.
Former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown has cast doubt on Liverpool’s pursuit of Alvarez, telling Football Insider that a deal for the 25-year-old is unlikely.
Alvarez is reportedly happy and settled in Madrid, with no plans to leave just a year after his unexpected move from Manchester City.
