Uber reliable French and PSG insider Julien Laurens has put any rumours linking Virgil van Dijk to the French giants to the sword.

Laurens is a well-known reporter who is also believed to be good friends with Kylian Mbappe.

Now he has taken to X to report that there is no substance to any reports linking the Dutchman to PSG, all of which seemed to have sprouted up from the talk Van Dijk had with PSG chiefs in the Anfield tunnel after the second leg.

The timing and context of Van Dijk’s post-match meeting with PSG officials – immediately following an intense knockout tie between the clubs – naturally fueled speculation about potential transfer interests, particularly given the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Van Dijk’s contract situation.

However, Laurens has dismissed these reports that have circulated this week:

‘There is nothing between PSG and Virgil Van Dijk.

Virgil had a chat with Luis Campos and Nasser Al Khelaifi after the Champions League second leg and it wasn’t about his future but about the two games they played,” he wrote on X.
