The agent of Jurgen Klopp has responded to reports linking his client to the Real Madrid and Brazil national team job.
After stepping away from Liverpool’s dugout last summer, Klopp has been quietly reshaping his career at Red Bull – but has now been linked to a surprise role at a European giant.
Since assuming his role as Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer on January 1, 2025, Klopp went on a tour of the company’s worldwide football network.
Based in Wiesbaden and Mallorca, the former Liverpool manager has focused on mentoring coaches, refining scouting networks, and integrating cross-sport performance insights across Red Bull’s global portfolio of clubs.
Klopp began with a worldwide tour, visiting RB Bragantino in Brazil to analyse youth development frameworks, then New York Red Bulls to assess MLS operations.
He later traveled to Japan to consult with newly acquired J1 League side Omiya Ardija, emphasizing tactical adaptability in Asian markets.
However, a recent report in Brazil stated that the former Reds boss is not enjoying his role too much.
According to Bruno Andrade of UOL Brazil, Klopp’s growing dissatisfaction in his role as Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer has ignited speculation about a potential return to frontline management.
It is claimed that only two jobs would coax him back in the dugout – with the Brazilian national team and Real Madrid emerging as unlikely but tantalising destinations.
Spanish outlet Diario Sport also revealed that influential figures close to Florentino Perez are now advocating for Klopp’s appointment, viewing the German coach as someone who could make an immediate impact at the club next season.
However, the German’s agent Marc Kosicke has responded to those reports, clarifying that despite concrete interest in Klopp, he remains happy with his current job with Red Bull.
“Jürgen is very happy with his new role as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull,” Kosicke told Sky Sports.
Understand there continues to be concrete interest and enquiries about Klopp from top clubs and several federations?
However, Klopp still has no intention of taking on a head coach role next season – not even at Real Madrid or with Brazil.
